The phone's directory search works by applying a progressive match as you dial additional keys. For example, to search for "Henry Jones", you can dial HENRY by pressing 43679. As you dial, the possible matches still shown on the display reduces.

Dialing Additional and Accented Characters

Though marked with just ABC, the 2 key will also match the accented forms of those characters, for example À, Á, Á, Ã, Ä,Å and Ç. The set of additional unmarked characters matched varies depending on the language settings of your system, see Entering Characters.

Alternate Search Methods

By default, the name matching is applied simultaneously all parts of the contact names, ie. the first, middle and last parts of the displayed names. Your system administrator can change this to a more traditional search if required; for example to match from just the start of the displayed names. However, this will apply to all phones on the system.
